Registration is open for the Mercosur - EU Business Forum

The 4th Plenary Session of the Mercosur European Union Business Forum (MEBF) will take place from October 28 to 30 at the Blue Tree Park Hotel, in Brasília. By visiting the www.mebf.com.br website, executives, government representatives, entities, NGOs, and anyone interested in the theme may readily register for the event.

Established in 1999 during the European Union, Americas, and Mercosur Summit Meeting, ever since its conception the governments of both regions have officially considered the MEBF a facilitator for the organizations interested in searching for proposals, suggestions, and recommendations.

According to Ingo Plöger, the entity's co-chair for the Mercosur region, this is a unique opportunity to advance dialogue with the European Union and to conquer new markets. "The Mercosur, particularly Brazil, has been successful in several international agreements, presenting to the world the local industry's quality, efficiency, and competitiveness. In many sectors we can compete in conditions of equality, while in others we have to negotiate for the removal of barriers, subsidies, and other items," explained Plöger.

Among the confirmed presences are those of the Development, Industry and Commerce Minister, Luiz Fernando Furlan, as the event's Keynote Speaker, and of the Foreign Relations Minister, Celso Amorim.
